Chancel Choir
Our Chancel Choir is a wonderful group of people sharing their God-given vocal talents for God’s glory in beautiful four-part harmony. The choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 6:45 (flexible summer schedule), and is a fun group who joyfully fellowship and sing together. They provide special music most Sundays and help to lead the congregation through the service. Anyone interested in singing with the choir is more than welcome! O come, let us sing to the LORD;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Music can enrich the service and is a way we can connect with God and each other during worship. The text can enrich and deepen our experience with the message of the scripture and sermon and the music can help us express when words aren’t enough. Scripture tells us that we were made for music and at Second Presbyterian Church we strive to incorporate beautiful music into every worship service. Whether it is a youth instrumentalist or a vocal solo, a traditional hymn or a choral introit, you will feel the Spirit moving through the sanctuary as the musical offerings enhance your experience and feed you spiritually.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly;
teach and admonish one another in all wisdom;
and with gratitude in your hearts
sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.
And whatever you do, in word or deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
